NASGA was founded in 1976 and is dedicated to the promotion and understanding of Scottish Heavy Events competition in North America and to inform athletes, judges, officials, and all other interested persons of news and results of Scottish Highland Games held throughout North America.
The SAAA is a professional sanctioning body that provides a competitive platform for Scottish Highland athletes. We are a non-profit 501 c(3) national and community based organization readily available to sanction Highland Games and/or provide education in Celtic history, heritage, and culture. The SAAA aims to work alongside other sanctioning bodies in standardizing games, events, scoring protocol, and judgeship qualifications.
It is the intent of Scottish Heavy Athletics to facilitate and promote the Heavy Events that are a traditional part of Scottish Highland Games and Gatherings.
It is our goal to create an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual satisfaction between the various hosting organizations and the athletic community. We support all Games regardless of organization or sanctioning.
The RMSA provides a voice for athletes within the various festival committees and a community where athletes can get together to train, compete, share experiences, etc.
